Privacy policy
How your information is collected, used, and protected when you visit this website or begin therapy services.
Effective date: August 2026 · Practice: Apapacho Counseling · Diana Calderon-Sandoval, LMHCA
This website is for general information about my therapy practice. Visiting this site does not create a therapist–client relationship. A therapeutic relationship begins only after we have agreed in writing to begin services.
Website information
This website is a static information site. It does not use analytics, advertising pixels, or other tracking technologies. It does not set cookies. Fonts and images load from the same host as the site — your browser does not contact third-party services simply by viewing a page.
When you call, email, or book through my scheduling portal (SimplePractice), I may receive your name, email address, phone number, and any information you choose to share. I use this only to respond to inquiries, schedule appointments, and provide clinical services. I do not sell your information. Clicking an external link (for example, directions in Google Maps, or a reference article) leaves this site and is subject to that service’s own privacy practices.
Protected health information (PHI)
Once you become a client, information shared in therapy is protected under federal and state privacy laws, including HIPAA where applicable. I maintain records securely and share information only with your written permission or when required by law (for example, imminent risk of harm, suspected abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult, or court order).
Before your first session, you will receive a full Notice of Privacy Practices explaining your rights and how your information may be used and disclosed.
Telehealth
Virtual sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. I take reasonable steps to protect the privacy of sessions; I also ask that you use a private location and a secure internet connection when possible.
Phone, email & text
You may reach me by phone at (206) 414-9147 or by email at diana@apapachocounseling.com. Email and standard text message are not fully secure — please avoid sending sensitive clinical information by email or text unless we have discussed it. Phone voicemail may also capture personal information; leave only what you are comfortable sharing. This website, phone line, and email are not monitored 24/7 and are not for emergencies. For urgent or crisis support, call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, uninsured and self-pay clients may request a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before services begin — at no cost. If your final bill exceeds the estimate by $400 or more, you may have the right to dispute the charge. Contact me at diana@apapachocounseling.com or (206) 414-9147 to request an estimate.
Your rights
As a client, you have the right to access your records, request amendments in certain circumstances, and receive an accounting of disclosures. Questions about privacy can be directed to diana@apapachocounseling.com or (206) 414-9147.
Updates
I may update this policy as my practice or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
