Why I chose this work
I became a therapist because I know what it means to need a space that truly holds you — and how hard it can be to find one.
As a first-generation Mexican American, I grew up moving between worlds where my language, family, and identity weren't always reflected back. I know what it means to hold more than one world inside yourself — and how tiring it can be to translate not just words, but whole ways of being.
That experience shapes how I practice today: person-centered, trauma-informed, and justice-oriented. I believe everyone deserves a space where culture is central — not a footnote — and healing means reconnecting with who you already are.
"Healing runs deeper in your first language. I offer sessions in English & Español."
My graduate training at Seattle University paired coursework with supervised clinical hours, and I completed my clinical internship at Self Space here in Seattle. That's where the frameworks I lean on now — trauma-informed care, culturally adaptive CBT, narrative therapy — moved from theory into the room, and where my commitment to culturally responsive, justice-oriented care took its clinical shape. It also taught me that technique matters far less than the relationship it lives inside.
